air compressor for spraying car

Post by sibster »

What would be the minimum spec air compressor to spray a car. ive been looking at the fleabay paint kit and all it needs is the compressor, I know the paint kit may not be that good, but with my scrooge budget (and the wifes car to spray on) not to fussed lol.

3hp minimum, and a 50 litre tank at the very least.

My compressor is a 3 hp 150 litre sip airmate, and it keeps up with my gun nicely.
Make sure the gun nozzle isn't any bigger than 1.2mm, and make sure you get a decent moisture filter, and regulator that fits the bottom of the gun ;)
