Getting wheels to a track day

Post by barclar »

Hi folks, I'm just lining up my first track day since getting my mr2 and am a bit worried about destroying the rear tyres too much so I won't be able to drive home on them.

Mate with a 200SX takes a complete set of 4 spares but I'm not even sure I could get 2 on the passenger seat (will give it a try) but I was wondering if anyone had tried anything a bit more extreme, like tying wheels on top of the engine lid :?

ps if you've got old wheels with ok tyres going cheap I'm interested.

take the passenger seat out (think about the weight saving, DOH!) and you can fit 3 wheels easy in the cockpit. 4th in the boot. no problems. ;)

pending size of wheels then 2 in the boot 2 in the frunk once you have removed the space saver, leaves the passenger seat free

Thanks for the offer Gee Man but I'm going to keep looking closer to home for now.

loudandproud205 - I'd love to see a picture of 2 in the frunk. Did you take the battery out or something? I tried this weekend and I can't see how you'd ever get more than one in :-k 2 in the boot fitted snuggly tho, with string to hold the lid down but only about 4 inches sticking out the top.

btw my front caliper siezed on the M40 yesterday. By the time I pulled off the disk was glowing bright yellow!
