Jag XKR

Hi all

Not much to tell really, but not had the car back for long (been tucked away over the winter)
On the way home yesterday and found myself behind (I think) a Jag XKR. I believe this is the 5 litre one?

Anyway cruising in the outside lane at about 50mph, traffic moves over and he guns it, puff of black smoke from his 4 tailpipes. Luckily I was ready in 4th and was pleased to find that he couldn't get away. This happened twice through traffic and then he decided to pull over, I presume to find out what the hell the crap looking skip behind was that was keeping up!

Im not 100% sure how to tell what type of jag it was but it had 4 tailpipes and I think an "R" on the right of the boot, and after I passed it had bonnet vents.

Any way Id call it a draw!

Depending on the reg, it could be the 4.2 SC unit. I had a play with one of the 5L ones a few months ago in MK, I was able to get more traction away from the roundabouts and quicker cornering (although that may have been me more willing to push than he was to be fair), but in a straight line there was nothing in it. His made the nice noise though!

I saw an XFR about 2 weeks ago which has the same 5.0 V8 in it. I was walking along side a pedestrian crossing, he stopped, I gawped, his light went green, he drove away, I almost spunked in my pants.

Even at normal idle pull away, nothing silly, no nailing it, the noise is EPIC.

It's kind of like an angry Bear/Lion cross with a megaphone and lots to say.

IIRC it's about 380bhp Vs 500bhp so a reasonable difference.

I'd think the noise would give it away.

Reg was "Daz something, something, something"...... lol

As far as i can remeber and find the XKR only has 420bhp or 500bhp
