ct20b wastegate

Post by obster »

Hey,

I have a ct20b turbo to replace my old ct26. i have fit the wastegate from the ct26 on the ct20b, as it didnt come with a wastegate.

I have noticed that the wastegate sits in the partially open position. so im thinking that if i fit it back on the engine like this i will be losing boost. is the wastegate different on the two turbos? or is it more likely that the wastegate is faulty and not closing all the way?

Any advise and help would be appretiated

cheers

is there any detailed info on the length ?
I've fitted a CT20 actuator on a CT26, still overboosting, i wonder if the arm is too short and doesn't open the wastegate....

the shorter the arm on the actuator the more tension that is applied to the wastegate, this will cause excessive boost pressure as the wastegate is held shut.

to OP, best bet is to try and get hold of a ct20 actuator if there are varying lengths or you will suffer from a large amount of lag with the wastegate partially open.
