Woodsport Rally car
Look what i just bought....
One wide arched Mk1 rally/grasstrack car, every panel is fibreglass, even the doors, i also got the moulds for every panel thrown in! So expect to see some wide arch panels and fibreglass bonnets/doors/bootlid etc available soon.
This car is powered by a Mk2 2.0ltr NA on twin 45's....
Fully caged from front to rear, stiffened throughout and stripped out, it's also running on coilovers.
I've no idea what to do with it in the short term, might have some fun with it or sell it on.
Interesting though ay!

No i think i'll keep this engine in it and either do a bit of grasstracking or maybe sell it, not sure yet!
Re: Woodsport Rally car
Will definitely be interested in some doors once you're up and running.

Re: Woodsport Rally car
Sure no probs, i have a huge amount of spares to sort through first and see what there are moulds for, but it looks like everything.
Re: Woodsport Rally car
Nice find! I may be interested in some fiberglass bits

Re: Woodsport Rally car
If i hadn't put so much work already into the V8 wide arches i would definately have used these! I think the FG doors are going to go on it for definate though.
Re: Woodsport Rally car
You'd never get an MSA logbook for stage rallying but I think it would make an amazing rallycross car (with the right engine, I'm not to hot on classes in rallycross).
Grasstrack would also be very very fun and stupidly cheap. Again you'd have to look at the class setup and adjust the engine to suit. I think the mods it already has would put it with the big displacement and forced induction modifieds.

Re: Woodsport Rally car
Thanks for that, i've never done any competitive motorsport before so based on what you said i think if we do take it out it will be for a bit of grasstracking
Re: Woodsport Rally car
May also be suitable for up to 2.0l modified class in sprints & hillclimbs Paul

Think yourself lucky, in my local sprint championship my supercharger puts me in a class with a M3 CSL, and 2 GT3 Rs's to name a few.
Nice car Paul, I must admit I saw the advert for it and was tempted

Re: Woodsport Rally car
It didnt have photos on the advert but was listed as 2.0l 3sge conversion with custom wide arch's so I assume its the same one unless theres another out there.
A friend sent me the link to a very obscure website and I cant find it anywhere now, i'll have a dig to see if I still have it

Re: Woodsport Rally car
There was another car out there that was the "sister" to this one, both built at the same time from the same place with same bodykit/engine, although the one i've bought is of higher spec than the last one that was sold, that's probably the one that was advertised, i don't think this one ever came up for sale to be honest.
