Tyres

Post by TheBaker »

Hi, It's time to replace the tyres on my 2, first time since having it.

I've not got the stock alloys, got 17 inch ones, on the rear are 235/40/17 and the front 215/40/17, however I've noticed they kind of look like they're flat even though the tyre pressure is correct, could these tyres be too big??

How do I find out the correct size of tyre for the alloy? Do I have to hunt down my alloy model?

I was thinking of going down to 205 at the front, maybe 215 at the back?(I know the 2 is meant to be staggered)

Any suggestions/help, I'm a n00b at this.

Also, I know I'll probably get flamed for this but are budget tyres OK? bear in mind I'm not really racing it or anything like that.

Thanks.

Hi Mate,

I have 235 rear and 215 front and she runs fine. My wheels are all 7.5J (Should say on the inside of the alloy) no problems at all.

The best value tyres are Falken's or Toyo's in my opinion but if you need to save some pennies, then budget are the way to go.

Just bear in mind that with brakes and tyres you get what you pay for!

Just make sure they are inflated well and don't be too crazy.
