And finally it's done

Post by Jonjeffryes »

So it's finally done...it's been the longest most drawn out engine change I've ever been involved in. I think I'll stick to Porsches in future!

Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to stick the bloody engine in the middle of the car [-(. ...what...it's all about the handling...ok I'll remember that as I trundle around the m25 at 5mph

Seriously though I'm glad I did it and saved the car from being broken.....but don't ask me to do another for a while [-X

Now the cleaning is underway. The car has sat in the garage for over a year and was dirty when parked up. The front bumper and mirrors have suffered with fading and lacquer peel...and the rear bumper is a shade or two too light plus there are various dings and dents to deal with...not too bad for a 20 year old car really.

So here are the first shots of the clean up...there's a bit to do but the MR's beginning to look good again....

Nice one mate, I'm trying to save one from the scrapyard at the moment.
Good to know I'm not the only one.

Gearbox off tomorrow looking for a replacement

Enjoy your 2, she's looking great!

Nice one well done, looks very original which is probably where the money will be come in another 10 years.

When I bought mine it was probably 6 months from the breakers. New engine, new front end, and newcompletely new suspension. It's something that I've got some satisfaction from.

But I won't be doing it again! :eye:
