You can get a fully refurbed box from Fensport...about £500 plus your old box...plus fitting if you're not doing it yourself...TBH, it's much cheaper to get another box thats known to be ok mate...they don't really wear out or break easily...so if it's shot, I would off it...get another LSD box from a rev 3+ turbo for £200-£250 in the private sale section...give jasongtr a PM...not as ezpensive as some of the other affilliates.

Thanks for the info, the better half has bought an lsd box off ebay, the guy we bought it from never got round to fitting it but said he bought it (off ebay) in good working order. The cars not gonna do lots of miles but we will be doing various track days, so should we gamble & take the guys word for it & just stick it in or is it worth paying for a refub?

I would trust a second hand car parts dealer from e-bay...as far as I could throw him mate...in a nice way though...lol..these boxes are strong, but get a lot of stick...particularly 4th to 3rd and down to 2nd, but it doesn't have any kind of inherant wearing out problem really, they got better through the revisions but you may well have to suck it and see...are you gonna do the clutch while your at it.

My thoughts exactly, ebay/fleabay! We're gonna have a chat with the guy we bought the MR2 from regarding the clutch if he recons its ok we'll leave it if not it will be worth replacing while gearbox is out! Its a lovely little motor & we've replaced quite a few bits since we bought it & the gearbox is the last little niggle, we'd better hurry up & sort the box as got track time booked for 2 may lol will be peace of mind if we get it refurbed & then well have an extra bonus of the lsd

Cheers for your help & have spoken to gtschris about changing driveshafts, also a helpfull fellla :thumleft:
