fitting a replacement turbo, decat and rogue revision 6charge cooler.. what a nightmare

I like to start this thread with a big thanks to Patrick and Matt from Rogue Systems, lads you were fantastic as always (just wish you guys were closer :)) and also a big thanks to Colin and Dwayne at Silverstone Autosport they're a mazda rx7 (/8 ) and scooby specialist near Chester (got some lovely 400+ hp 7s in as well as rally and show cars...Mmmm) the two lad mention did their time on Toyota's and really know there stuff so any one near Chester give the guys a call they have been fantastic with me. even let me use the cleaning gear and air lines to check pipes etc as well as copper banjo washers for the oil feed pipe off the 7's and various other bits over the weekends (went through the first set as well as new toyota ones - which just seamed useless to me and at a fiver a washer utter rip off) Silverstone's open most sat mornings as well which has been a massive help

So as the title says i set about replacing the turbo and thought while i was in the area I'd slip the charge cooler on and the decat as well, simple right? haha what a nightmare job it was. needless to say it took me and me Dad about 3/4 weekends on our backs there was lots of head scratching and heart break, toys out the pram moments (was very close to getting it towed to a garage on a few occasions.) just silly things like getting stock intercooler out

But with the some very helpful phone advice from the lads at Rogue (they supplied me with most the parts as well, and threw in a few free bits ie the 17mm turbo stay bolt which i'd rounded off that they had one lying around the work shop) and the lads at Silverstone i've finally got the car back on the road after a 6month wait while i saved the cash.

any out there about to undertake any of the above i'm happy to help. pm me i'll give you my number or if your close can come take a look. had a massive problem trying to stop the oil feed pipe from leaking had the lot off about 3 or 4 times in the end i replaced the feed pipe and bolt should have done it from the beginning but the anit cheap.

I'd plumbed the turbo in wrong and it was over boosting (Error code 34 boost pressure problem Cheers Matt at rogue for telling me how to error check) Colin at Silverstone stuck it on the dyno confirmed over boost quick look at the pipe (yep plumbed the in wrong..doh! ) and it was good as new. he put it for a run and we were both surprised how well the old girl went

309.2 hp (265whp) and nearly 300 torques as clarkson would say (Dynamics Rolling Road) Colin said it was pushing a bar of boost one the run

not even put the boost controller on yet so i was made up.

thats with hks induction kit, berk down pipe, rogue revision 6 3" zorst, revision 6 charge cooler (what a piece of kit that is) and cooler grade plugs, boost controller to be fitted over the next few month. i'll get the graph up later if anyones interested
