Drive could be up to the Lake District or into North/Mid Wales, just a good excuse for a good drive and a laugh along the way plus possible bbq? I know a good few routes and exellent destinations in North Wales such as Bala Lake, Anglesey, Snowdonia to name a few or Ullswater, Derwentwater, Coniston up in the Lakes.

North wales, The Lakes, endless places to drive and great scenery to boot!! 
, plus loads of great pubs and superb bbq areas!! Lets plan something for end Aug or sometime in Sept. I've done a couple of meets with the north west boys and girls to the lakes, had around 15 MK1's the first one we did, must include Kirkstone Pass...! what a run. I could rustle up a few people from the North East and make it a really BIG deal. In the past we have all met up at the Little Chef just off the M6 at Penrith. Ill check out some routes.
