[Mk2] [Turbo] Rev 2 leads on a Rev 1?

Post by HCChambers »

Hi all! Well, unfortunately, my Rev 2 turbo is done cruising the streets, but I found a wicked good deal on a Rev 1 \:D/ . Now, I had just put new leads, cap and rotor on my Rev 2, and the leads on the Rev 1 are bad, and from the looks of it the dizzy cap quite possibly is original. So, if I swap the ignitor, leads, cap and rotor from the Rev 2 to the Rev 1, will it work? What are your thoughts?

If you still have all the rev 2 parts then keep....

Coil pack and igniter, fuel injector pack (just above it, to the left, looks like something from an old tv) dizzy, dizzy cap, rotor arm and leads...also hang on to the water temp sensor and cold start switch...which are located on your water elbow.
Be carefull not to yank or grab the king lead too harshly, thats the weak link in the chain time and time again.
I would swap your cap with leads still attached from old car to new and leave the igniter/coil unless they're fluffed...they're the same on a rev 1 as rev 2, the igniter limits rpm to about 6k.
