my new mk2 and some advice needed

Post by sloopeh »

Hello all

Here is my super shiney almost mint new car. it is standard apart from a blue flame exhaust and an induction kit.

I am new to mk2 ownership so have some noobie questions if anyone can help?

The wheels are in need of a refurb - what does everyone think - should i refurb back to standard, get them done in black, or put different wheels on altogether?

i would like to lower it a bit - what is the best way to do this? not afraid to do the work myself and have people who can help me if needed.

it has a sony headunit in it and i would like to add a bit more bass - in the passenger rear cubby hole is the following connection. is there something nice and cheap/second hand i can plug into it?

my plans are to keep it standardish but maybe add a subtle bit of 'cool' so if anyone has any ideas let me know.

cheers

Welcome to IMOC fella :thumleft:

Nice motor, wheels, in my opinion look great in gunmetal grey or black but down to personal choice.

As for springs, Apex springs offer a nice drop and pretty comfortable.

Enjoy the car and IMOC, welcome aboard :D

Loveley looking motor mate. Looks like it has a nice shine on it. Personally id change the wheels to something nice a old school jap. Cost wise though and you want to save money a nice gun metal grey would look good.

Your not quite over to the dark side yet but im sure you will get a turbo at some stage now your MKII Converted !!

Enjoy :thumleft:

Looks like you've found a good one there, Good luck with it.

I would personally go for a separate sub and amp to add a little extra bass. If the stereo has been changed to a Sony then I suspect that cable you've taken a photo is no longer in use.
You can pick up second hand subs/amps pretty cheap now. Let me know if you need any help saucing/fitting them.

Wheels are very personal, depends if you want it to look subtle or not.
