Insurance question

Post by mr2turbo99 »

Hi All,

quick insurance question. Can you buy insurance that last 6 months instead of a year?

I only drive my car during the warmer months but have to fork out for the whole year only to not use it during the winter.

Thanks

you can buy it for however long you want, i did mine just for a month, you'll probably find though that 6months is not much difference to a whole year anyway and of course for the year you'll be covered against theft etc. while it's on the drove/garage etc.

if you don't use to commute and don't do more than about 5k a year you should be able to get a decent classic policy that will be a lot cheaper...

Oh i didnt realise you could insure it for any amount of time you wished. I thought maybe they could be more competitve if it was for only 6 months but if its the same price i guess theres no point lol.

Might have a hunt around then.

Thanks :thumleft:

I went through a broker who will find policies to whatever spec you want, but for an example, hopefully should be looking at less than £200 fully comp for a year on a classic policy and 1 month fully comp was £60! I think that classic policy don't take no claims in to account either as needs to be a second car too I think, let us know how the search goes...

Cheers guys, will do.

Im currently with heriatage. They want £589 with 5000 miles and all my mods declared. I seem to remember them only allowing up to five mods which leaves me in a pickle as i have more.
