Boost only at 3/4 until 4-5000rpm is this normal.

Post by N9THX »

After removing my manual boost valve i've noticed the boost gauge only reaches 3/4 until 4-5000rpm then creeps to full by about 7000rpm.

I read that the TVIS system may have been disabled, how can i check this?

While i'm on the subject how much boost could i safely run on my Rev3 turbo with decat,xs power manifold, big twin stainless exhaust, apexi induction and hks sequential bov?

I've ordered a boost gauge so i can measure what boost is running whereas before it was all a mystery. :?:

sorry, I miss read the first few lines, and thought you had adjusted the boost before having a boost gauge, the stock boost gauge totaly in accurate. everything will most likely be alright. once you can see on the aftermarket gauge

No mate, the car came with a manual boost adjuster but with stock boost gauge. The previous owner had split the hose coming from the turbo to the IC and i did the same a few days ago.

So i've removed the manual boost adjuster until i've got an accurate gauge fitted.

Not sure why there's a CT26 turbo fitted though, could it be a hybrid?

The Rev1,2 turbos say CT26 the rev3+ should say toyota. If you are back to stock and having boosting issues, you could check the tvis, it is under the inlet manifold and has a blue plug that should be connected, or the vacuum pipes near the actuator

dont confuse tvis with tvsv.....

you should be looking at the tvsv if your concerned with boost

The TVSV connected after having a look.
Is this a 100% got to be disconnected and blanked off when running a manual boost adjuster?
