3sge hunting/idle fast

please help.

1992 2.0 sge non turbo uk car has a fast idle and some times the idel hunts up and down.

ive changed the idle control valve.
done paper clip in the diagnostic plug test witch pointed to the air temp sender. i discovered was unplugged. now reattached.
removed the battery lead to clear any fault codes.
rechecked for fault codes and came up clear. light continualy flashing.

problem still there.
please has anyone any ideas.
and or experianced it them selves.

sounds like the throttle position sensor isnt set up properly. Bit of a bu88er to set up really, but have a search on here and you will find all the info

but the throttle postion sensor has never been disturbed.
it still has that yellow paint seal on the screws.

rad started to leak so fitted new one and bled.

car is running very nice now.
