Always thought they looked like merc wheels. What make are they?

Long time since Mark Edwards was on here. He used to get called

Merc-FE-Edwards (those wheels and no spoiler  )

Even though he had more that 400bhp

i looked at all his old posts, and noone knew what they were called...

have since discovered they are

Starform Type D

fancy a change due to car only gets B road use, and 18s are pretty hard over any surface....
might just be cause i fancy something else, am not sure...

am due a tyre refresh on the rears, and instead of blowing £400 on tyres i may not get much use out of (if i sell wheels on), had a thought of changing wheels completely.
mmm

I'm not to keen on the starforms to be honest mate. They don't suit the look of the mr2.

On a decked S13 with lots of dish they look good.

Yeah on a hybrid..... [-(

I prefer the BBS JIm,

Dont fancy some TE37's? I know theyre popular, but are a nice wheel!
TOTB 2010 Rwd top speed, 1/4 and shootout winner.
10.7@142 on R888 street tyres, 10.3@134mph on slicks,
9's on slicks to come, with a clean full throttle pass! Goal of 0-150mph in a 1/4 of a mile....

only dyno of marks i saw was 282 at the wheels...at 1.7bar

anyway

i do LOVE the LMs, however in 18s there quite insane for potholes..
and i dont think theyd look as good in 16s, hense kinda looking at different wheels.

perhaps im just wanting to find things to do to it, lol

Those starforms only look good if you are gonna go hellaflush, the ones on the mr2 dont have enough dish compared to the shots on the S13.

Also dont diss the FE bootlid [-(

Terrible pic I know and you cant see that the bootlid is actually red :eye:

Everyones opinion is different but i would defo stick with the BBS LM's mate. They really do look awesome.
I've got 18"s myself (KEI RSS) :thumleft: and those other rims don't suit MR2's at all.
As i said just my opinion.

aslong as you get some with an awsome dish think i think they could work well, it will have to be low thou.

and well 16s and lowered is an ass for speed bumps and even curbs :(

i think the 3 peice rims I have for sale would look good on your car :D

otherwise the 18s look too big and kind of roller skatey, and the fat 5s have got to be heavy and poor for helping with brake cooling

--edit--

Just saw your post Jim

They look very similar :)

--edit 2--

The ones on the Red and White car are Definatly Merc AMG, you can even see where it says AMG on the spoke. The ones on the MR2 are different
