(for Mk1ers) -Silverstone Classic

Post by Charged »

Hi Mk1'ers,

SILVERSTONE CLASSIC 23rd - 25th July

is anyone looking at attending silverstone classic with the Mk1 club? There is an offer on tickets until the end of June (buy one get one free) and the Mk1 club have been granted some parade laps of the circuit for the 25th anniversery.

It would be a real shame if there are only small numbers of Mk1s present.

Please post up here if you are interested. Silverstone classic is a great event to go to!

Thanks

Ollie

Will they be enforcing any decibel limit on the drive round?

Friday £25 }
Saturday £35 } Plus a booking fee &
Sunday £35 } credit card charge of approx £5
3 day £80 }

The above charge covers two tickets and it is necessary to take a passenger to gain any advantage as the charge is the same for driver only.

Our club stand is central circuit together with over 100 other clubs displaying 6000
privately owned classics.

It is our cars 25th anniversary and Silverstone have kindly agreed to include us in a select club presentation display lap of the famous Grand prix circuit, so don’t miss out
on this unique opportunity to support the club and take your car on the track.

Contact Ken Salmon ( [email protected] or Tel 01462 671897 ) to be included on the club stand and book your tickets."

I dont know for sure, but I doubt it.. these will be billed as 'parade' ie slow laps of the circuit... althought that didn't stop me hitting 110MPH + last time I did parade laps of silverstone :mrgreen:

I will be taking my 1.5 and that is pretty noisey..

I'm going to this, tickets have been paid for, just waiting for them in the post.

I will be leaving mine at 6am, coming from Chelmsford Area if anyone wants to go in convoy and meet at south mimms or potters bar?

Embarrassingly I will not be attending Silverstone classic, couple of reasons which I wont go into.

I hope it is a good event and the Mk1s are well represented :thumleft:

It is a shame, I'd dearly love to have been there, got a lot going on at the moment though.

I'll see you at JAE Alex :thumleft:

I'd like to see who'd be interested in my motor as she may be sold before/during/after JAE.
