- Liverpool For one night only, on the 25th May 2010, Liverpool city centre will be transformed into a celebration of all things POWERFUL!
The Strand is opened to the public and a selection of the worlds finest vehicles sprint up the 500m strip.
Salthouse Dock will host Jet Ski stunt displays and Power Boat demonstrations, whilst the Breitling Wing Walkers take to the skies, unveiling their new livery and wowing the crowds with their awesome formation flying aerobatic display!The main event, starting at 7pm, will be two and a half hours of frantic, noisy demonstrations on land, sea and air when the roads will be closed to normal traffic.
A selection of the world's finest vehicles will sprint up The Strand, including Le Mans winning Jaguar, Bentley and Maserati cars; a collection of modern supercars from Lamborghini and Ferrari as well as the latest models from Cholmondeley's founding sponsor, Bentley. Two wheel heroes Neil Tuxworth and 12 time TT winner Charlie Williams will be on hand with modern and classic racing motorcycles.All this of course means that there are going to be some road closures on the evening of Tuesday 25th May.
All closures will be signed and staffed and will remain in force only for as long as is deemed necessary.
The diversion route around the waterfront closures will also be signed. There will be a requirement to introduce a lane closure on the northbound section of the waterfront route from the night of Monday 24th May 2010 and the traffic management for the below road closures will start to be introduced from around 5pm on Tuesday 25th May 2010. As such, you are advised to expect increased delays and therefore your journey times/travel arrangements should be reviewed.Public Information
1.The waterfront route
(The Strand, Strand Street, Wapping and Goree) will be closed between Liver Street and Georges Dock Gates.2.Water Street will be closed between Tower Gardens and Canada Boulevard
3.Brunswick Street will be closed between Drury Lane and Canada Boulevard
4.James Street will be closed between Drury Lane and Canada Boulevard
5.Canada Boulevard, Georges Dockway and Mann Island will be closed
6.Essential access to and egress from St Nicholas Place will be maintained via New Quay
and Georges Dock Gates
7.Essential access to and egress from the Three Graces and Pier Head will be maintained via Brunswick Street
8.Access into and out of the Albert Dock will be via Gower Street
9.The Queensway
(Birkenhead) Tunnel exit onto New Quay will be closed10.Churchill Way South
