best place to get an engine from?

Post by russthedude »

my engine has had it, it soudns like a bag of spanners. oil pressure is much lower than it should be, power is right down and it's basically dead.

i've scanned ebay but people on there want £250 for an engine thats either untested or has got 150k on it.

You could see if Paul @ Woodsport has removed any for customers recently, he may be able to help.

Otherwise, check the people breaking cars on here and Mr2mk1club.co.uk and put a post in the Items Wanted section.

Mine is up for grabs, currently at Woodsport.

Was rebuilt by AW11 autos not long ago, was running fine apart from two issues...

(1) the auxiliary air valve has stuck open... I was using the dust cap with a hole drilled init to bypass the valve

(2) it needs a new gasket and a missing bolt to stop a coolant leak from the housing that holds the temp sender.

It has a lightened flywheel on it and a Jimi bracket. Also a Janspeed exhaust.

Other than that, like I say it was running absolutely fine, not overheating, no knocks, rattles etc... the only reason I've had it taken out was cos I wanted V6 power & sound! The mileage was around 80K iirc.

If your interested, make me an offer.

Contact Rogue Motorsport. I purchased a fully rebuilt engine from them, I dont know if they had one or two left when I bought mine. It was £500 plus postage, but the best £500 i've spent my money on!!!!

For £250 you can probably pick up a whole spare car! If you are still after an engine, I have a replacement one still in the car so at least you can see it running and I'm only 20/30 miles east from you if interested?
