[Mk2] [Turbo] gizzmo ms-ibc

Post by GTMatt »

Currently have a gizzmo ms-ibc running (when running correctly) at 1.15 bar, the problem is that thet boost keeps creeping up and setting itself at a higher level, so i obviously adjust the duty cycle and gain to give me my 1.15 bar of boost again. ]
How can this be stopped, i dont have a FCD but is this the piece of kit i would need to resolve this problem?
any advice would be a help :D
cheers

No, an FCD will not stop you getting boost creep. Fitting one will stop your the ECU protecting the engine should you overboost too far.

How much gain are you running?

68, the same as the duty cycle, as this was the only way i could stop it creeping constantly, although i did read somewhere (cant remember) that a gain of 10 was sufficient so i dont know whether mine is wired in wrong ?

Check all your vacuum piping, your gain should be between 10-20, so yeah seems like something is up.

On the Gizzmo unit there is a setting before you set the gain and duty....... Open and Closed boost cycle. When the boost cycle is set to closed, the Gizzmo ebc constantly makes small adjustments to the wastegate to make sure you don't get spikes. Just a thought.

What he said ^^^^^^

I have the same unit and i discovered there is a function for overboosting which varies between 0-100. Have a look at the manual, explains it all in there. Its also online on the gizzmo website.

its already set to closed so i dont think thats the issue but cheers for helping :D, yeh i'll have another look in the manual, although i didnt seem to helpful when setting up as it doesnt tell you how to configure actual boost settings, but i'll give it another chance .
