[Mk2 Turbo] ice question, true or false

Post by si »

Hi all,

was having a dilema with my sound system in the way that only 1 speaker works.

1. the on board amp must be connected as the head unit will not work without it. Is this right?

2. Could i wire the speakers in directly from the head unit skipping the amp

3. is it possible to take the little boxes out from behind the seats to make some more space.

Thanks.

You're probably better off totally re-wiring the stereo side of your MR2, and removing all the standard kit. A bit of a pain in the backside - as well as time consuming - but allows you to use decent speaker cabling and also fit better components.
The standard audio setup is okay, but fairly limited if you have plans to expand.
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

Right, the standard toyota head unit has no internal amps.

No, for the reason above

Yes if you disconnect the woofers and the woofer amps too
