Post by staffbull mr2 »

hello IMOC again. i am writing to say i have had my new falkens tyers fitted today he fitted and balanced the front no problem just when he came to do the back wheels he couldnt balance them due to a relocating pin on the alloy s . he said i shouldn't worry much about the back ones. the fronts are the most important. i drove home and it felt very good no shaking v.good grip. just has anyone had this problem and should i worry about this. i have the original alloys

Sorry fella I don't understand why he couldn't balance the rears for you? Is he saying they wouldn't go on the machine for some reason? Obviously cost is always a factor but if you can a full geo set up (balancing wheels is a different issue, you also need to consider camber, castor and toe angles to get the best from your 2) every 2/3 yrs will keep everything in fine fettle. These cars are very sensitive to their geometry.
As for the non balancing issue if we knew why he couldn't it would help. If it feels fine chances are it is though you'll obviously feel any rear vibration less than the front. Pop it to another place to get the rears checked? Where are you?

You need to unscrew/remove that pin to balance the rear wheels.
I had the same problem, but we find out that the pin is removable.
