[Mk2] [NA] rev 4 power loss to rev 3

Post by MR2 FLYER »

hey guys iam new here and wondering if you could help me. i have a rev 4 mr2 3sge engine n/a and i believe it has lost a little power to the rev 3 somebody was tellin me. down to 168 from 173 due to emission control. could anyone tell me would a performance exhaust system and manifold i.e japspeed and a good induction kit, irridium sparks bring this power back to default 173 bhp plus more. i ask this because i know the rev 4 has the same engine as the rev 3. thanks for readin and if you know anythin please post :thumleft:

If you've a JDM rev4, then it's still 173bhp.

The change was just some stuff to help with emissions. There was a post on mr2oc (that I'm not even going bother searching for as old posts just seem to vanish!). It is possible to bypass whatever was done, and I believe Rogue do this on their race cars.

In other words, I don't know exactly what changed

^^ That is it you can block it off, does more harm the good really. Not sure on what the result actions come MOT and emission test time is though
