[Mk2] [NA] rev 5 alarm trouble

Post by aliendoughnut »

ok i have a rev 5 with a Toyota factory fitted alarm just lately is getting less responsive and i am having to press the key fob more times to get the alarm to arm and dissarm. I have put new batterys in both key fobs so its not a battery problem. can anyone suggest what this problem may be? I dont want to have to get another alarm fitted

So Is mine I think it's just the button on the keyfob, luckily I have a 2nd keyfob to fall back on that is unused. That works fine, odd that it's both of yours though.

This is a VERY common problem on rev5s apparently.

Mine is the same.

It'll fail again soon :D

I'm not sure if it's the 'receiver' or the central locking ecu that just thinks it shouldn't be receiving anything so doesn't bother telling the receiver to check.
