[All] [NA] Engine overheating NO Heat through car

I have only went and bought a mr2 (1992) had it a week problems all round but this one i cant fix not sure off where to start. The engine over heats after 5 mins. but i get no heat coming through the air vents. I need help where to start ](*,) . New to all this stuff cheers :thumleft:


As u can see i dont know much about mr2 yet but u can all let me know if it mk 1 2 3 cheers ?!?!?!??

It would be a mk2 mate being `92 (mk1 is the squarer original shape MR2). Or if you mean which revision, yours is prob a rev2,if u get your chassis number u can find out for definite. Theres a post on here somewhere that states where the revs start and finish by chassis number. I dont know a lot but last time I had a N/A with those symptoms, it was the headgasket gone. Or I dont know if a stuck thermostat could cause it?

Have you checked your coolant level?

i would replace the cooland and bleed the system before taking it to have the HG done

Where are you fella? It might be easiest (and perhaps cheapest in the long run) to whip it to an affiliate for a diagnostic of the issue. Meanwhile have you checked the oil filler cap for signs of white gooey build ups?

Where abouts is the water spewing out of? if it is the expansion bottle, Replace the pressure cap (About £5 from Halfords etc)
