WOW - Just spotted my old car

Post by matt*79 »

OMFG. I haven't been on IMOC for yonks and i thought i would just poke my nose around as i do miss the MR2.

Low and behold it turns up http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=127723

Originally i bought it off an IMOC member but sold it through pistonheads when my daughter arrived

I spent alot of time getting original tuning parts i loved the Apexi induction kit and the ARC interccoler was bought from an IMOC member. What a pig it was to fit!!!!

I'm glad it has returned to the fold as it was a cracking motor (one of the best IMO) and not messed with at all.

The only difference i can see from when i owned it are the rev5 alloys have gone and a blueflame exhaust has appeared.

Missing the sale must have been a good thing. I'm not sure if i could have sat by and watched it go without grabbing it again.

Whoevers got it have fun, treat it with respect and don't chav it up FFS :thumleft:

Hope you enjoy it as much as i did.

I would still have it if i didn't need back seats. ](*,) Nevermind.

How did it change hands so quickly? Was acf8181 a trader?

Let me know if you ever think of selling it.

PPS. A bit of modding history. If i hadn't of been moving house at the time the car would have been fitted with a very rare greddy exhaust system. Unfortunately moving fees stopped all of that #-o

Hi mate, well the guy I bought it from really really didn't like the colour!

I think he only had it about 3 weeks? Maybe even less, I thought it could be something dodgy but I went to look at the car anyway, acf8181 was a really genuine guy and so far nothing has broken or fallen off so :thumleft:

I quite like the blueflame but I might sell it for a single exit at some point. You dont have that exhaust laying around still do you? :D

Oh and could you shed any light on the bonnet? I think at some point its been changed but it looks like a different shade. So maybe thats because the bumper has faded so the bonnet is actually the "right" colour but looks odd.

Its not too noticeable but I know its there :) If I do think of selling it I will give you a shout, I think I might keep it for a little while yet though!

I never got my hands on the exhaust, if i had it would have been on the car in no time.

When i sold the car the paintwork was damaged in the centre of the bonnet. The damage was about the size of a large plate and was where the lacquer had come off. You couldn't see it in all lights just at the right angle you would notice a patch that was dull compared to the surrounding paint.

I believe the IMOC member that acf8181 bought it off had got a replacement bonnet in SMG but it didn't quite match the rest of the car. It might well be that the bonnet was replaced? (the search button is your friend!)

Yeah I did do a bit of digging around and it seams a new bonnet was put on but doesnt quite match the rest!

I'll have a play with it at the weekend
