Race Car Live, Brands Hatch 21st & 22nd November

Post by Rogue »

Hi All,

This weekend Team Rogue Racing will be at Race Car Live, part of the London Motorsport Show held at Brands Hatch circuit. We'll be promoting both the MR2 Championship and MR2 Super GT racing series and will have mk2 and mk3 examples of each.

If you're interested in racing an MR2 in 2010 then please come along and talk to us. We can show you around the cars, offer advice and even provide passenger laps - please bring your helmet if you have one!

For more information please visit http://www.londonmotorsport.co.uk/

Best regards,

I will be there...

This year the event will run under track day rules, which means that you don't need a competition license to drive on the circuit, just the permission of the exhibitor.

I'm just looking for clarification on that... The T's and C's state:

Restrictions

The following restrictions apply:-

1: All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied whilst in the garages, pit areas, pit lane or pit wall.

2: Drivers under the age of 16 must have a current MSA race license (minimum National B) and can only drive Junior MSA Formulas.

3: Anyone under the age of 14 will not be able to participate in track activity, either as a driver or as a passenger.

4: Adults may only participate as drivers if they hold a current MSA competition licence (minimum National B).

Apparently there's a bit of confusion, but what it boils down to is that a person with a normal road license can drive as long as they are accompanied by an authorised race license holder.

Definitely worth going I think!

Patrick, are you going to have MK2 and MK3 race cars there? Any SuperGT cars?

Yes, we'll have a mk2 and mk3 representing the MR2 Championship. For the Super GT I'll be bringing along the 2ZZ equipped mk3 we used for the Britcar 24hr race as well as Anthony Day's 2.2 turbo mk2. All cars will be fitted with passenger seats for the event, but we're restricted to two cars on the circuit at a time and will run them in rotation.

Thanks to the Rogue guys and Anthony for a ride in a 2.2 mental turboed MK2 that's going to run in the Super GT series next year...my insides are still trembling. \:D/ Never have I felt so much grip in a MK2! Looks like it's going to be a fantastic series!

Car owned by Anthony Day, prepared by Rogue. A 2.2 stroker, not sure what turbo but it flew without much lag to speak of.
Felt amazing, too much power for such a tight circuit really, LOL.
Again I am well impressed with the R888s in the damp.
