Will hold out hope for tommorrow.
The majority of delivery and collection services are taking place as usual today and through this week in the Midlands. In areas where there was industrial action taken recently by the Communication Workers Union
(CWU), were working to restore full services as quickly as we can.
Deliveries in Grantham(NG31-33) are taking place this week after two days of industrial action last Friday and Monday.
Delivery times may be later than usual because of a larger than usual volume of mail to sort and deliver.
We understand the inconvenience caused when mail services are disrupted and were really sorry for the inconvenience caused to customers in the Midlands affected by this industrial action.
Service Information for customers Service Summary for customers: 9th September
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The majority of Royal Mails national and international mail network is operating normally today and the majority of business customer collections and mail deliveries will take place as usual this week.
We are now concentrating on getting services back to normal following the Communication Workers Union(CWU) taking industrial action in some of our network distribution units on Monday and Tuesday, which affected some of the normal transportation of mail around some areas of the country early this week.
Were doing everything we can to keep mail moving normally, but there may be some slight delays to mail in some areas during this week.
Yesterday the CWU withdrew some of the industrial action it planned to take in mail units which deliver mail in South West London delivery units. As a result, industrial action took place in Brixton SW2, Clapham SW4 and Tooting SW17, but deliveries elsewhere in South West London took place.
Were working to restore normal services to customers in central Peterborough, Grantham, Chelmsford, Southend and Kings Lynn after industrial action in these areas during the past few days.We understand customers rely on our services and were really sorry for the inconvenience we know this disruption to mail services may have caused.
Today, the CWU is taking industrial action which will affect mail deliveries and customer collections across most areas of London. In South West London, mail deliveries will take place, except in four areas; Earls Court
(SW5), Battersea
(SW11), West Brompton
(SW10) and Wimbledon
(SW19) where deliveries will be limited.
Were really sorry for the further inconvenience to our customers in London.
More information is available for customers in London on the South East regional page.
The CWU has notified Royal Mail they plan to take industrial action in central Cambridge on Thursday, which may affect customer collections in the CB1-5 areas and in Rochdale on Saturday 12th September where mail deliveries may be affected.
