can anybody put any light on this for me please

own car 1990 n/a g limited import front struts leaking

local breakers has two struts from a 1989 g reg 2.0gti16 will these fit my car ? they look like they are rebuildables mines arent?

i will have to put my lowering springs on them will they fit ?

the struts in the breakers are dry and of reasonable condition but how can i check that they are ok ?

AFAIK they should fit - it's actually a fairly common upgrade to put Rev 1 struts on later cars because they're rebuildable i.e. you can put Koni or other inserts in to uprate the suspension.

If you search on here about Rev 1 rebuildable struts you'll get some more info than I can provide

ive went ahead and bought them they seem to be fine and dry and in good condition 60 quid the pair
