anyone else have really bad headlights??

Post by ricc »

My headlights are very very poor. The lights only seem to light up about 15-20 feet infront of me. When there are street lights its not so had but when there arn't its almost dangerous.

Its a rev1 G Limited, the lights were fine for the MOT, but is there anything else that can be done to improve them.... anone suggest any decent upgrades for bulbs etc.... really want a pair of Rogue rev6 ones but can seem to justifly it....yet!!

Are the headlamps clean? I sounds daft but I bet when most of us wash our cars we dont pop the headlights and wash them! I konw I only wash my headlights once in a blue moon when I remember.

get xenons, bout £20 a pair.

size h4

also you could try turning a screw in the headlight assembly, this would make the lights go a bit further down the road.

Up-rated bulbs from Halfords or Phillips will improve lighting simply :) for under a tenner

Halfords 80/100 H4 bulbs work a treat, tenner each. Light up the night!

I've also seen replacement headlamp units for sale, but I can't remember where (will post if I find it). May be useful if the reflective surface inside yours are tarnished.

i could do with a replacement set of lamps as one has gone naff inside and the other is on its way, so even with good bulbs its still rubbish on the road
