Car is booked in for a full decat exhaust on the 18th of this month and i have a jap spec peformance induction kit to fit at the same time.

I no its old but its so much more fun to drive than anything else i have ever owned, i no relise why the old man got it and i understand why he kept it to :)

Any thoughts or anything?

Thanks

Looks very good Nick. Nice height on the springs.. what are they .. Tein? How long have you owned it and how long did your father own it before you. You don't see many G reg mk2s about... do you know how old it is or the chassis no and how many miles does it have on it?
I must admit to loving my own G reg mk2 also. Simply the most reliable, most fun and generally best car I've owned.

Thanks :)

The springs are H & R springs, i have officially owned the car since October last year when my dad passed, he owned the car for at least 5 years before me, i have since being in touch with the previous owner who had it imported himself so after having a few chats with him i pretty much no the car very well now.

The current mileage is 114718KM so about 70,000 miles

I do have the chasssis number its - SW200017025?

According to the V5 document the car was manudactured in 1990.

Its a shame its not H reg though, because my private reg ( H5NTY ) would be on it then!

Thanks

Wow, that's a very low mileage for its age, less than 3.5k per year for 19yrs ... no wonder it looks in such good shape.
Any mods other than the springs and wheels?

Yeah my interior was looking tatty so I've just fitted leathers from a 2000 rev 5. Big difference (there's a pic in my garage).
Only thing I'd say is keep your eyes on both struts and topmounts now you've fitted the lowering springs. Old ones don't tend to cope very well with the extra loads... I found that out fitting fensports and have ended up changing the lot. Mind you I may have had to anyway at 19yrs and it was an opportunity for an upgrade...

All mods are personal choices mate. If the car were mine I'd be going back to the standard grill but many others I'm sure will like it.

Today i had my decat exhaust and JSP induction kit fitted, here are some pictures:

As you can see i have kept the tail pipes nice and small and almost oem looking, i am very very happy with the sound of the exhaust, its only a tiny bit louder than standard up to about 3000 revs then it brakes into a very nice sporty sound. I am very impressed with the performance increase that the decat/exhaust/induction kit have provided, i mean it revs so much more freely and even seems to idle alot better!

Also i am really impressed with the quality of the whole exhaust, Phil at Unique Exhausts in Stafford made everything infont of me and his work is perfect :) This is my 4th exhaust by phil and the quality has being second to none!

Any comments?

Thanks
