hi people. i have bought a second hand turbo. it has a bit of shaft play side to side. would it be ok to fit or would it need new seals?? thanks for your replies. :(

Depends how much mate a couple of mm is fine, if it feels like a lot then you might want to get it checked out.

does it rub on the housing? side to side play is normally bad news, in and out play is less of a problem IIRC.

in and out is bad, every second hand ct20b, ct26 and hybrid turbo that i have felt have had varying amounts of side to side play, and thats quit a lot of turbos, guess its quite normal to have a little because it tightens up with oil pressure

must be a small amount though, if your not sure then get someones opinion who is :thumleft:
