wheres the best place to source a wrote off MR2 turbo?

im wanting to a turbo conversion over the summer as a little project, im thinking of just buying a complate car thats been wrote off to take the engine from and break the rest..

where can i source one though?
ive had a quick look online but not really found anything worth considering.

any one have any tips?

why don't you sell your car and just buy one, their rock bottom prices of now aren't going to stay that way for much longer

I don't see any reason why 15+ year old thirsty, bumpy, rattly, leaky (well some) niche cars are going to get more desirable any time soon....

There may be a bounce as Mk2s gradually go to the big scrap yard in the sky, but I can't see them truely making it into the "classic" market

They will the cheapness is meaning that some of the cheaper examples are being bought by Chavs and hopefully removing the crap examples as well as themselves from the genepool meaning that well kept well looked after examples will in a couple of years start to increase in value

I bought my mr2 as a total loss (aka light rear bump) for £500 from a local salvage yard as a summer restoration project. Just look round the salvage yards near you, something might come up

The two i looked on were www.hbc.co.uk and www.nsec.co.uk as they both have auction sites but i bought mine from www.chaseautos.com

I got my Rev1 with loads of mod's for 100 quid!!

And i also think they will go up in value.

Look at Mk1 and Mk2 golf GTI's

There 20 year old rattly bangy thirsty lumps and they are fetching 2 3 or sometimes 4k for an original one and they are no where near the car an mr2 is, and i was a dub fan till a drove an mr2
