Steering wheel and pedals for PS3?

Post by ^Trickster^ »

I thought id ask here before looking around for one anywhere and get some real feedback.

The only problem I have is I used the xbox and ps3 in my bedroom so I just have the 50 inch at the end of my bed on a stand so theres no table or anything to put the steering wheel on, I just sit on the end of my bed to play on it, I only have formula one for the ps3 and thats all i play on it really.

I want a good steering wheel but something that doesnt need to be mounted on a table or anything.

Anyone have any recommendations?

Ive got a wheel for sale in the classifieds here, which you can use on your lap, but you wont be able to use the force feedback function, which is the best bit...

i have a logitech dfp (driving force pro) its one of the best wheels you can get, it works perfect on both pc and ps3 as its usb, all functions work with both eg force feed back (had to turn it down on gt5 because it was so damn strong!)
it has 900° rotation from lock to lock really is an awesome wheel
£50 is the price everyone is asking on ebay so let me know if ur interested.

I have the driving force GT which is the revised version of the older driving force pro, its an improvement over the old and shares the same motors as the G25.

Your going to want the driving force wireless though as it doesnt require a desk or table. RRP is £79.99 so i bet you can get it cheaper.

You have a 50" tv at the end of your bed and you sit on the end to play?
Are you making the most of such a large TV?

And F1, I hate to be the one to say it, but is it worth spending X amount on a wheel for such a poor game?

Grid & GT5 will own that royally for fun matey :thumleft:

Ill have a look at some of the wheels mentioned and get back to one of you im sure.

I like F1 so yes its worth X amount.

How can I make any more of my tv, its only for the bedroom, we like movies and watch them in bed.

H3RB: How is the wheel mounted? does it come with pedals too?

Thanks for the replies

I have a G25 and, as previously said it is awsome. It's even better with a racing seat and 108" projector screen! The cables get on my nerves though.

I can't imagine using a wheel on my lap, or on an ironing board for that matter. I can see how it might work but I bought my wheel for a bit more realism so I would personally give either of those ideas a miss. Maybe when Red Dead Redemption comes out I'll use an irnong board to simulate being on horseback though, I might get some chaps to go with my cowboy hat too! :thumleft:

yeah my dad always races with the wheel on his lap but i just cant get to grips with it like that. drifting on grid with a wheel is awesome. i love racing with the wheel and in car is the only way to do it but i dont have enough space to use it now really :(

I didnt mean anything by it, just that a big ass TV like that is usually best appreciated from a bit of a distance, say 10 - 12 feet.
