it's back from the body shop and back together!

Post by john_p_b »

following on from my other thread, got the car back on friday afternoon so spent the weekend finishing off putting it back together.

only thing left to do is the back lights as when i went to refit them checked the bulbs and 2 had blown, will pick some up tomorrow so couldn't see the point in fitting them to take em back out!

i'm really pleased with how it's turned out. the paint job is awesome, could never thank my uncle enough for the time and effort he put into doing it for me.

just the wheels i'm not sure on now, never have liked them to be honest, fancy just going for a set of standard alloys but we'll see!

anyway, some pictures of the finished project minus the rear lights.

I personally don't mind the colour... light colours show off the shape rather well in my view. Confused though as to why you've sprayed the sills but not the front splitter or rear spats.. just looks odd to me.
What else do you have planned? I reckon a little drop and spacing out those rears would be my next move.

leaving the splitter and rear spats black was partly a case of trying to keep a semi factory look, plus a bit of black breaks up the yellow and then there's the point of maybe going for something different in the future.

not really sure what move to make next with it to be honest, i think i actually want to get it on the road and drive it to see how i get on with it then go from there. i do think a bit of a drop will be in order though cos it looks bloody high at the back but then saying that i had just taken it off the stands when i took them pics so it might look a bit lower now but haven't taken much notice before i put it back in the garage.

mot is booked for the 8th of march but it's coming together better than i expected so might bring that forward yet!

Looks like a great job but I have to agree about the black bits, I would have colour coded them too.
Each to their own though, Its you're car. :thumleft:
