Rev2 Project (New pics)

Post by ricomr2 »

Hi guys, finally got myself another MR2 after 3 long years away.
Not got any big plans for the car, just get it to a nice clean standard and a few small mods here and there as I go!

The car...

UK spec Rev2 MR2 T-Bar.
Full black leather and a JVC DVD player.
Outside its pretty standard apart from Rev3 lights all round
Under "the hood" Its got a K&N induction kit and a Mongoose/Blueflame exhaust. (not sure which it is yet)
The rest is as Toyota made it.

How it stood a week ago when I got it...

And how it looks now with the wheels painted, the sills spoiler and rear bumper bottoms colour coded and the grill hiding the exhaust bent up out of the way...

I've made a start on colour coding the dark red strip too, drivers side id done but no pics yet.
Should also have a set of -40mm springs for it in the next few weeks and I'm looking to change the wheels for a mint set of the same wheels or
maybe something aftermarket.

Comments welcome

I have left mine on but have heard of people either bending it up out of the way or using a small angle grinder and cutting it at the connecting points.

I just bent mine up out of the way, means I can bend it down again if I ever felt the need.

My cat started blowing today! don't think I've ever seen a hole in a cat before

Anyway, perfect excuse to fit a de cat pipe which my mate is going to make up for me tomorrow night. \:D/

no car needs a cat, but yours will have the more strict cat emmissions test as the cut off point was 1992

From the mechanical forum, basically, all you need to know about emission testing/law/cats

hey mate, nice motor, is it your first two then ? Looks like the body work is nice and clean and the rev three lights look mint on the red 2's.

Id love to get my hand on it with some McGuires X-Scratch to bring the red back to life....like the photo shopped version. Your car has still got some red left to come out mate...believe me !

Will look great when you have lowered her and put some nice rims on her.

Pics please when its lowered as considering doing mine.

Check mine out mate, get rid of that rear grill and show off your Mongoose !!! :thumleft:
