free parts off my MK1 - like a free closing down sale, everything must go

Post by russthedude »

I'm stripping my MK1 this weekend to make space for the shiny sliver one I'm going to have what ever is left taken away wednesday or thursday.

The engine is still in there complete at the moment, I'm not going to be able to get this out on my own, so I'm probably just going to take off bits that I can get to easily and that I will be able to shift on ebay fairly quickly 'cos I don't have space to store bits. After I've finished getting off a few bits to try and claw some money back on ebay, if anyone is in the area and wants to come around and help themselves to anything that is still there, feel free.

it's a white mk1b, in sunny Bournemouth. if you're after something, post up and I'll let you know if it's still going to be there

Phil, I cannot get that bumper off, I spent about an hour trying this morning with no joy, its all the nuts along the bottom that won't budge, all but 2 rounded off. I tried cutting the whole bumper bar off but nearly took my head off with the angle grinder, which could have been a pain. someone wantsthe bumper bar and its a pity I can't get it off because it's in really good condition. I'll see if my dad wants to come round tomorrow and have a go with the angle grinder.

Braaaaaaaaaaaaaains....I need braaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaains.

ECU and coil and ignitor still about? My mk1 isn't starting atm :(

If the leads are going wanting I could do with those too even if they are old as I need to test a set.

I'm in Southampton so not far away :)

cheers

Tom

Don't suppose you have a pile of unbroken trim fittings (various metal/plastic!) for the interior/boot do you?

the car never had any clips in the boot, and the trim inside, well...... I can have a look, but me and the trim had a falling out a while ago when I was trying to fit new speakers in the back  I think it was just the corner pieces that got the big smack down, the straight pieces are alright I think, I'll have a look inside tonight and see what I can salvage rather than send it off to the bin :thumleft:

I take it from the lack of reply that you don't have the coil and ignitor etc?

had my post removed because of putting an ebay link in, would have been nice if they just took the ebay link out to save me typing it all out again! any chance of getting it put back (minus link) so i don't have to type it all out again, i really don't have the energy. meanwhile, i'll be over on the new MK1 site.

Not quite what I meant.....

I know it's sold as I was the guy who bought it.

It being Monday evening and not having heard from you was more what I meant by "What's the story...."

I mentioned in my reply I was in Southampton (but that got mod'ed too) as I was hoping to come and pick it up last Thursday as my mk1 is dead in the water without it.

*sigh*

:(

ah, didn't realise it was you who bought it. it was sent first class on thursday. hopefully it will arrive asap, if not i've got the proof of posting so will have to stick a claim in with Royal Mail but they won't do anything for 12 days I think, as it could turn up in that time.
