play mkv files (hd) on your ps3

i have just found a program that will convert mkv files into, mpeg2, avi, vob and mp4 keeping the audio at 5.1 or dts (which ever your file has)
it takes about 10mins for a 4 gig file.

if u download a hd tv show or something similar off of the net it will be in .mkv format BUT the ps3 wont play these so u have to convert it to a file that the ps3 will play. i have a program that will do it in around 10mins so just thought id share it with people if they needed it

super is just for converting, i think what herb is reffering to is done on the fly and then streamed, not sure tho as i don't have a ps3.

was just about to reply to pms but read this firts. yeah thats the program u need. takes mins.
and matt yeah you can dowenload hd episodes and then watch them on ps3

Or if you come into a bit of money (200 quid) buy a Network media tank like a Popcorn Hour or I-star.
They play EVERYTHING and also have Utube and internet TV applications which ROCK.
Utube on your tv with perfect controls.

I have a 1tb hard drive in mine which I am filing with HD .MKV's (keepers)
and I stream anything I obtain and only copy over stuff I wanna keep.

When i am fedup of SKY or movies or TV series I just use the UTUBE & Internet TV app on there.

uses alot less power than a console to run too.

Via USB memory stick or something? Sorry never used the ps3 in that way.

yeah once converted u can then put the files on mem stick, burn them to disk or stream then to the ps3 with tversity media server
