London Tunnel Run - 28/02/09

Post by Lou-Lou »

A forum I help run is organising a tunnel run in London if anyone is interested?

The moment you have all been waiting for.. the event of 2009! (Well so far anyway)
Yep you have guessed it.. another infamous MissBanzai Tunnel Run!

Date: Saturday 28th Feb
Time: 8:30pm - aiming to get cars on the road by 9:30pm
Meeting point: Thurrock Services
J30/31 M25
Arterial Road
West Thurrock
Grays
RM16 3BG
Price per map: £4 all money going to charity

Tell your friends, family, etc...

Details will be coming soon about where you can pay, we will be setting up another JustGiving site, as the money then goes direct to charity and also give you the option to do the whole tax thingy.
We currently have a few charities in mind, but if any of our members have something that is close to their heart and that particular charity has a JustGiving account then we will happily put it to consideration.

One quick note...
If you have never done a tunnel run before the following is a good thing.
Remember you will be following typed instructions, with possibly a few sat xxxx locations and a few pics of maps.
We cannot supply map books to everyone, so a map book of London of your own would be a really useful thing to have in the car.
Also a co-pilot is rather vital.. you will be driving round London on a Saturday night so someone to read you directions and point out road names helps loads!
Walkie Talkies.. these are not only really handy, but really good fun as well.

And don't forget.. it is in Feb, the weather will be pants cold/wet/snow etc.. This is not our fault, as much as the MissB staff like to think they are god like, we can’t do everything

See you there!!!!!

Basically what will happen is you will pre-pay your £4 on the Just Giving site in exchange for a map on the night.

Last one I went to was a good laugh, and nice to meet lots of new people from other clubs

Would be good to see a nice turnout of MR2's there!! \:D/

The donations page is here:

Please remember to put your user name and club in the comments!

Have also got an event set up on Facebook if anyone wants to invite any one they know.. the more the merrier! :D

lol.. I got lost as well and I helped organise it!! haha

Ah well, getting lost is half the fun, I remember passing some people with them going the other way, and wondering who was lost, them or me

We'll be finishing at the Dome and sorting a tea / coffee / burger van for when we all arrive there at the end of the night :thumleft:

Oh, can you guys remember to pre-pay here:

http://www.justgiving.com/missbanzaitunnelrun

This means we don't have to handle any cash, and the charity can claim gift aid :thumleft:

Well the £500 target has been reached :D

I see from your just giving page that the event is doing very well and you have reached your target which is fantastic.

I hope you all have a very enjoyable evening. My daughter has done a London tunnel run with a friend in a mini and she said it was great fun.

Thank you for supporting the Myositis Support Group and I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards
