Wing Mirror Glass

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

Ive recently purchased some wing mirrors from Oukie in black, and wish to spray them white. How do you remove the glass?

Just have to be brave and lever them out of the casing.

They're located by a ball and socket in the centre plus a couple of plastic threaded adjusters which will sound like they're stripping but they're not.

Don't bother removing the glass to spray them, just mask it off. They are easy to break when removing (I know from experience) so if you can avoid it do :thumleft:

They are also very easy to break when you put them back in! ](*,) ](*,)

Also, you might want to sand them down very well if they're they later mirrors - this will remove that weird texture that the later mirror housings have, and you'll get a better finish (apologies if you already know this) :thumleft:

Yeah, I sprayed the ones on my previous car and they do sounds like you're stripping the threads off when you take them out, but do it slowly a bit at a time and you should be ok.

I got spare glass from ebay for 99p, so it's always worth doing a search.
