Ferodo Brake Pads

Post by acexxx »

Are ferodo brake pads any better than standard? I know Greenstuff is good.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

Yes they are.
I did a trackday on mine and they simply refused to fade despite serious abuse. They are also fine for road use, pedal feels slightly firmer but progression and out and out stopping power is awesome.

I had DS2500's on my 200SX and IMO they weren't really suitable for road use. The brakes were awful when cold and I nearly got caught out a couple of times when I forgot to leave the extra distance. No such worries with the Ferodos on the MR2. They're comparable with the standard pads when cold, but with much better performance at all other times.

Ferodo are a good make but it depends which pads you get as they do standard replacements for most cars which won't be any good on track of course.

Greenstuff can be a but inconsistent when they get hot.

I run Mintext 11144's and they are awesome, great pedal feel, awesome braking force and good from cold - havent used them on track yet but by all accounts they are great.

I've definitely found an improvement on standard with my Ferodos. I can't remember which series I've got, but they were billed as fast road pads.

Though I've now put a new set in with new discs and redstuff on the rear. Hopefully that should be further improved set up!
