[All] [Generic] List the tuners you know

Post by cantfindausername »

I might be in need of getting another tuner to tune my car.

As such I'd like to see a list of people that IMOC recommend.

I've already approached 1 or 2 different ones, but figured this would be a good way of getting all the info in one place.

Thanks,
Ant

Ant,

I'd recommend:-
Ryan from 2BarTuning and
Muffleman from AFR Tuning in Gatwick

What you looking to get done, just a remap?

Potentially mapped from scratch.

I am awaiting responses from both of the above. I didn't realise muffleman was at AFR though. Need to pop there on my lunch tomorrow as its like a 2 minute drive from work

Aye, Muffleman (Matt) really does know his stuff. Very good mapper and knows how to tune a car.

He won't do you wrong mate - and their prices are pretty damned good too.

Lyndon works full time as a programmer now, just down the road from Rogue HQ. He does freelance mapping in the evenings and weekends so you could pick any garage that he was willing to travel to. Obviously with Rogue being so close, experienced, well equipped and Lyndon having worked here for the past two years we make an obvious choice!

The only tuner/mapper I have been to is Thor.

The guy (pete?) did what he was supposed to do and the car runs great now with a good power increase too, so I guess that matters the most. However the communication and atmosphere between collegues and from mapper to customer (me), didnt seem great at all .....

I left not knowing WTF he had done within mapping, what problems he had with the car, what it could benefit from etc... and I tried to ask loads of question

but as I say the car runs great now

Spoke to him yesterday on MSN and seems like a really good guy. Haven't actually heard a bad word against him which is refreshing.

Also paid a visit to AFR Tuning. They're having a lot of work done down there to their machine shop etc which looks promising - might ask for a job

+ 1 for Lyndon a.k.a nod

I believe Ryan has a great reputation also though I've never used his services so far personally.

I haven't used Ryan 2bartuning but the car I bought from JimGTS was mapped by him. The dyno plot is faultless and the car drives fantastic. when it comes time for upgrades and a remap i am def. going to see him.
