Turbo insurance

Post by Ry_B »

Hello

I know this must pop up 50 times a day, I've searched about and had a look but most the posts seem to be old. So ...

Recently, has any 20 year old insured an mr2 turbo?

In Feb my insurance is up on my Rev 5 NA, I'll have had it a year with 3 years driving experiene, no claims against me and 1 years NCB. I went out in my mates MR2 turbo last night that is running around 280bhp and it's made me suddenly not like my car how I did before, worst thing I ever did but at the same time the best thing!

Anyway...has anyone done it? I'm trying to get quotes online now and nowhere will quote me for under 3k tpft, £2k is the most I'm prepared to pay!

I joined this site on 12 Nov 2006 and waited untill End of Jan / Start of Feb 2008 before getting a MR2 and then 26 Feb 2008 before driving one and I survived  :thumleft:

dunddo if there is anybody aged 20 in this but check it out, it was only a few weeks ago, general concensus is to pm ollie@sky insurance, they were well cheap, bell.co.uk are usually good too, i was in your position at 20 and i had a 200sx insured for 600 bucks, and an fto GR which is a group 19 import, had an rx8 when i was 23 too, and an mx5 when i was about 22. i've never paid more than around 800 for insurance!!

look for ollie.

Got mine when I was 20, not many will insure you at all and 90% only TPFT

Be prepared to pull your pants down and bend over tbh. Worth it though \:D/

Now i'm 21, £900 with bell fully comp with all the bells and whistles etc O:)

Mate I'd give Sky a call al least. They were no good for me on the MR2 with no continued aggreed value if I swapped. But my current MR2 insurers (Adrian Flux) wanted about £1,000 when I bought the GT4 this year (as a continued customer, second car etc etc!!!), SKY have done me for £300 FC all-in on the GT4 on better terms than Flux as well. Don't just go on internet prices by the way. But read the small print carefully and I find phone calls much easier than generic internet quotes.

yeah, i'm with sky, phoning them is great, it's deffo better than being on the phone to any other insurance company i've been with, no hassle, don't get constantly put on hold, and better still, the lovely girl could understand my silly Scottish accent, or Shcottish accshent as i like to say!!!
