[Mk2] [Turbo] catch can

Post by BLZ-8027 »

Does it matter that the inlet and outlet are vertical on the catch can?
ive fitted one and the hoses ive bought are too thin and just kink when bending them
I was wondering if i can twist the inlet /outlet so its not sitting vertical to help

The way thats setup you might get oil accumulating at a low point in the inlet pipe but the air flow should prevent it building up too much. The stock can on the rev 3 avoids that, oil either drips back into the pcv outlet or falls into the catch can. You would definitely want to avoid the chance of it kinking, if the flows restricted you might end up forcing blow by down the valve stems which wouldn't be good for performance or the engine. Perhaps you could run the pipe with positive gradient to the can so oil doesn't accumulate.

The pipes are not fitted at present just lying loose ,Does the can need to sit higher do you think?
