PS3 (oh dear) COD 4 HELP PLEASE

i am trying to get online with cod i have not played in ages but downloaded the new xmb got all up dates but not got new maps

but when i try and play cod 4 online i get to where is says downloading games settings and just sits therre
i tried waiting left it on for 45mins still nothing

tried a few times now

any help great

yeah where i ad not been online
it took 45mins just to upload the new xmb service packs etc
then everytime i start a game and then it has to install them all

Havent played a game on mine in months. Need to finish Resistence really, as well as the ones on my Xbox. I've got next week off so can dedicate some serious game time to it

i have played it online before

I have this problem, used to drive me insane.. I did a quick google a few months back and apparently the problem is when you log on a vital piece of data gets lost, so you just hang on the downloading bit.

The fix is and easy one.. Basically just switch off your hub/broadband leave if for one minutes (really 1 minute, 10 -15 seconds doesn't work) switch it back on and you'll get in as usual.

Apparently it might have something to do with connecting to the internet through your laptop/desktop that causes the COD4 to lose the info it needs. So i find if I've been on the internet I will have to reset the hub before I join a cod4 game. But if I haven't been online it will be fine!

Just out of interest who is your broadband provider? Just wonder if it's them? I use BT.

I generally switch it off and on 5 minutes or so before I go on, just so I know it's works..> Gives me enough time to boil the kettle and make a brew ready for some serious carnage.
