Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Question

Post by matt_mr2t »

When playing on the PS3 control pad, can you use the L & R buttons as accelerator and brake?

On the demo it's the front buttons which sucks.

You use L2 and R2 which arnt buttons but triggers so it gives you more control over acc and braking.

Well, they're not very good triggers but clearly better than using the front buttons.

Might see if I can pick a cheap copy up from ebay sometime.

GT5 Prologue GTTV update starts August in a big way

Yamauchi-san and the rest of his team over at Polyphony Digital are coming out with a big update to Gran Turismo 5 Prologue that will open up August in a big way. Gran Turismo TV (GTTV) will be debuting and a bevy of improvements have been packed in for a better racing experience than ever.

For those of you unfamiliar with the whole GTTV concept, it's Gran Turismo 5 Prologue's in-game video service system which lets you watch both free and pay-per-view broadcasts. For the first two weeks, PPV videos will be priced at only US$ 0.99, and when the promo period ends, they'll go up to just US$ 1.99. The Polyphony people say the HD broadcasts look amazing, and that should make the purchases worthy ones for gearheads everywhere.

To give you an idea of what you can expect, content can range from anything between Japan's "Best Motoring" to the UK's "Top Gear" shows. You can also see exclusive features like Yamauchi visiting the Ferrari factory in Italy or Japanese motorists playing car soccer.

The devs also said that the update will include "fixes in penalty judgments, more tire choices for Time Trial and improved physics during collisions between cars during online races."

This one sure looks sweet and we can't be more excited to download it in just a little over a day from now. We'll keep you posted for more.
