Not sure on Mark Wahlberg though. Christian Bale or Michael Madsen would have been a better choice IMO.

Max Payne was always a slight pastiche of film noir, and I'm not sure audiences are ready for that yet, so I have this horrible feeling of it being toned down (either not noir enough, or taking itself too seriously).

Whalberg will do a great job. I rate Bale very highly but don't see him as Payne and Madsen is just old as hell.
