My Innovate wideband Lc-1 has just arrived, so ill probably install that next week, just cant think of anywhere suitable to place the 52mm gauge. :-k I also finished the flexi off on the exhaust last night, started her up and it sounds soooo nice, not too loud or quiet, just purposefull

I recieved my innovate lc-1 wideband last week, and started fitting it today

the wideband kit consists of a 5 wire lambda supplied with a bung to weld into a downpipe/manifold. On my XS manifold I already had a bung fitted but with the lambda screwed in there it was too close to the firewall, so I decided to put another bung through the side of the manifold, heres some pics with the new bung welded on and the wideband fitted:

After the manifold was re-fitted i needed to start on the wiring, ive done loads of wiring on this car, but its so boring and time consuming to run it neat! The LC-1 kit comes with all the wires grouped and contained together, ok for some applications but not the MR2! I needed to cut the loom open and spread it 3 ways.

1 set of wiring for the earths to the inlet manifold, 1 set to the Greddy ECU behind the passanger seat and the last set run beside the door to goto a gauge.

I also had to find an appropriate plug to connect to the Greddy ECU, instead of buying the official wiring harness I used a CD-rom to soundcard wiring loom that I got from maplins @ £5 and modified it

here it is, 1 pin chopped off, and it connects straight up!
Image

the first new loom was routed within the original engine loom casing next to the timing belt cover, I also decided to install the LC-1s push button and LED there, nice and neat! :D

the LC-1 itself was mounted against the bulkhead in a secure place

All wired up, so decided to calibrate the sensor and test the gauge, all working fine :thumleft:

All I need to do now is mount the gauge, but first I need a gauge holder, which is being made at the moment :oldtongue:

Little update, over the past week or so ive been making a gauge holder from a spare tweeter cover with a bit of help from fiberglass and filler. here it is test fitted in primer

Image

after shaping the holder a bit more and sprayed it with foliatec black interior spray, and also gave it a crinkle type finish so it looked OEM, and fitted the gauge and soldered the connections up

ps, got rid of the tweeter and just upgraded the speakers to some Sony coaxials, jobs a good un :thumleft:

next job? to be taxed for april :clown:

Nope  Although the fact I was chuffed about the reduction my extra years NCD would give me following the ban, happiness was soon cut short when it increased £8.50
