I tell you something, it just goes to show how much of a life you haven't got if you aren't out with your mates/bird and have to resort to putting up crap like this.

I personally quite like the Clio cup.

Comparable to MR2 turbo...... NOPE!!!!!!

I would buy one, if i needed something newer, something cheaper to run, or something to do shopping in.
In fact i would probably just buy it for the bird.

I have driven quite a few when test driving them, because they were not mine i ragged the boobs off it.

Not bad.

Nowhere near as quick as turbo. N/A well yes its much more matched to that.

Theyre a nice 'nippy' runabout but nothing more. Like above, I would buy one when I have to for running costs when ive got a family but it's not even slightly comparable to the tubby even a stock one. They do pull from N/As though with more power and less weight.

As mentioned before why not come to a track day or similar, you're more than welcome to have a crack at mine if you like? I have no track or racing experience whatsoever so should be a push over for you :D

Posts that help me out and offer proper advice to other car nuts (i.e. car enthusiast). What about your pointless 18 posts banging on about a car with less power that magically faster than a turbo...what a xxx.

Come on tubby owners - you asked him to put up or shut up and he has risen to the challenge. Surely someone can arrange a 1/4 mile contest so he can try to substantiate his claim?

I drive an NA these days unfortunately so cannot help with this one.

We all know what the likely outcome will be but still give the guy a chance to make his case. Assuming his car is standard then we need a member with a standard tubby to keep it fair.

You should all chill out - just because the lad has (allegedly) smoked a tubby it doesn't mean he should be the target of abuse! You give us MR2 owners a bad name. Also if he is just baiting then you've all taken it hook line and sinker.

When I had my tubby I once got owned by a lad in an MK3 NA MR2 - I somehow got stuck in the dead zone at the bottom of 3rd and he toasted me ha ha! These things happen from time to time!

I haven't been on this forum for 5 years, and one of the reasons I left was because of pointless, banal and ridiculous posts like these. "Versus" and "Driving experience" style posts are simply a vehicle for people to either:

1. Talk bull$h1t, about something that happened only in the posters mind.
2. Talk about a race that never happened, i.e. the other driver was probably minding their own business and was in no way interested in the ensuing nonsense.
3. Show everyone else on this forum just how dangerous and stupid that the minority can be. Not a good advert for IMOC, or any other forum that entertains this.

You and I both know that a Clio 172 is more than a match for a turbo, not least due to it's far better power-to-weight, but more that the Clio has one of the best chassis's around with nigh-on awesome brakes as standard.

Straight line drag race- no chance the turbo would have it nailed.
A circuit like Snetterton , the 182 clio p1$$e$ all over my MR2 Turbo , due to the fact that the stock brakes are just amazing.

I gave myself whiplash at how hard and late I could stamp on them and how over assisted they are and then just turn understeer a bit and round you go.
I was lifting out of my seat under full braking and the seat belt was holding me in the air!

No way in hell would the MR2 with stock brakes Rev1 or rev 3 plus be able to bite like that with out unsettling the car to much for the corner due to the weight transfer.
On a faster longer circuit Id still think the clio and the mr2 would be even and very hard fot the 2 to overtake the clio , due to it not being able to out brake it.

Would I buy one? - Id rather be murdered and have the killer scoop out my eyeballs and skull feck me!

Peace.
