Well the tuning has started, its shown some issues with the boost controller which need to be sorted out. Its going to be stripped and cleaned to see if that sorts it out. Even with that though it saw over 400bhp at the wheels at various times. Its all holding together and sounding good. A positive start to the tuning :D

well the boost control problem is fixed, but I've had to by another 3bar map sensor as the supplier gave me the "it could take weeks" line. So they lost my business and I went else where. I'll send the other one back once I've collected the spare bits and see what comes of it then. Only problem is that it will probaly have to wait till after the easter weekend before much more work is done on it.

He did say that he's done a good fair few miles on the rollers and these seem to be the only issues, so thats positive to hear.

Is exciting. But frustrating at the same time. The way I'm looking at it though is that I've had nothing for nearly 2 years, and now its all readlly happening, so a day here and there isn't going to hurt. Just got so many plans to make I could really do with that final invoice to work out just how financially fubar'd I am

Nah, xxxx all mate. He's meant to have the dyno installed at his workshop now, but not heard anything all week. New Map Sensor looks like its fixed that problem so don't really know what the hold up is. Getting really xxxx bored of waiting. Got so much to do to the car when its back, and there are some meets and events I want to attend in the next couple of weeks, but really losing any hope I had of attending them.

edit:

Finally got a reply from him. He's away for the weekend and will call when he's back. Feeling really xxxx low at the moment. Feel like I'm never gonna get the damn thing back.

I would go and get it mate....

If the bulk of the work is done say enough is enough and take it from the workshop....

Get the final bits done in another workshop! Try AFR tuning mate, they are in Crawley.....Really know their stuff and have a dyno :thumleft:

As discussed. Its not as easy as that.

I'll give the guy his weekend away this weekend. But I want results next week.

Things have really been coming along this last week. The exhaust manifold flange deformed quite badly while going through the first few heat cycles, so that has been heavily skimmed to make it flat again. Hopefully it will now hold its shape.

Also should have a kill switch installed for the external fuel pump. ^Trickster^'s little fiasco with fire balls at high speed put the fear in me so think this is a good addition to any car.

And todays phone call has mentioned that body panels are being refitted along with the exhaust system due to new gaskets. Then a call is being made to book it in for an MOT. I'm hoping that it sails through the MOT because it can then be taxed and I can go up to do the live shakedown at a local airfield. 8)

Crickey! Can't wait 'til this is on the road, it's been some journey for you Ant! Dreading what a 2 year build bill will be like though!

MOT booked for 9am tomorrow!

Nervous!! Shouldn't really fail on anything really as it was only on the road for 3 months since the last MOT so no wear and tear on things like brakes. Chassis is sound as far as I'm aware. Have had to get the corner lights disconnected as they don't like these, and also switch to while side lights. Can't really think of anything else that will cause a problem... unless its emmisions
